Attendance Facts

We believe that every day of learning matters, and your child's attendance plays a crucial role in their academic success.

In our ongoing efforts to support our families, it's important to define chronic absenteeism. Chronic absenteeism is missing 10% of the school year for any reason. Students who miss 16 or more days during the year are considered chronically absent, which boils down to less than 2 days per month. This is why we emphasize, "Be Great, Miss Less than 8!"

Chronic absenteeism has shown a significant increase post-pandemic when compared to the 2018-2019 academic year. It's essential to recognize that this trend is not unique to Mt. Healthy but is a national phenomenon.

Research shows students who are not chronically absent do better in school and are more likely to graduate. Thanks for working with us to make sure our Mt. Healthy Owls are present in school every day!
